Heritage

Roberto Antonietti holds the weight of tradition in his hands, making ANTONETTI one of the most refined interpreters of Italian taste, a company that can offer its clients the highest level of support throughout its entire luxury textiles production line. This heritage has a familial history and has its roots firmly in the finest Italian textile tradition.
In the second half of the nineteenth century Carlo Antonietti, son of Battista – prefect to The King and friend of the Royal family – met Edmond Frette and founded the company known as Frette in Monza, Italy. The company produced and sold fabrics, in particular jacquard household textiles that soon became recognized as the luxury product they represented. For four generations the Antonietti family headed and guided Frette, maintaining control over purchasing and the production and design of all products.

Roberto Antonietti completed his textile and managerial training in the United States and joined Frette in 1977, travelling between China and Mongolia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan, India, Pakistan, Egypt and Japan forging commercial partnerships and making contacts for the buying of raw materials and other exclusive products.
He took control of purchasing, logistics, production and packaging as well as product development for both the Hotel and Home divisions. He was also responsible for the Royal Collection, the globally renowned jewel in the household collections .

In 2004 Frette was taken over by an American group, and following two years of handover partnership Roberto Antonietti left the company to found ANTONIETTI srl, thus continuing the independent family textile tradition.
